Did You Know?

In 1986 Dr. Jeff Wright approached the pastor of First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow and suggested they open a Free Medical Clinic and volunteered to be the doctor. Pastor Nick Garland readily agreed. This ministry was named "Cornerstone" because it was located in a stone house at 2nd and College owned by FBC. Later a Food Pantry and clothes closet were added.

In 2003 it was agreed to merge Cornerstone into Cornerstone Assistance Network located northeast of downtown Tulsa. In 2005 it seemed that the ministry, while serving some of the clients of Cornerstone Assistance Network, was no longer meeting the needs of Broken Arrow residents.

One of the pastors at FBC Broken Arrow met with other pastors of Broken Arrow Baptist Churches and the decision was made to form Arms Around BA with 10 founding churches. Nine are still supporting Arms Around BA today. We opened at 114 E. Dallas St. in leased quarters on August 17, 2005.
